This PhD thesis studies Oasis systems in South-West Algeria. It is focused on a traditional channeling system called Foggara, used for 10 centuries and supposed to provide sustainability to oasis systems in the area. The objective is to analyse the impact of new methods and practices brought by agricultural development project in the area. The approach is original because focusing on individual producer perspectives and involving an agent based model in order to analyse the emergence of trajectories observed at the oasis level.
