It is traditionally approached in a top-down logic with the contribution of knowledge to enable individuals to better understand and face risk. However, this logic ignores the
geo-socio-economic diversity of inhabitants and, therefore, their vulnerability. The project proposes to partially reverse this perspective, by finely documenting the relationships of inhabitants, including the most precarious and vulnerable, with their living space and their adaptation practices in the face of floods. The aim is to enable institutions to overcome their lack of awareness of these audiences, and thus better adapt their policies..

Adaptation programmes can thus incorporate a bottom-up approach, taking into account more specifically the most vulnerable groups, their already implemented strategies and their capacities for action.
